Welcome to the swamp!
Swamps are often viewed as places of mud and bugs, but in truth, they are much more than that. Found all over the world, from wetlands half the size of France in Brazil, to cool glades where tigers lurk in India, to the homes of alligators in Florida, freshwater swamps are incredibly diverse. There is a great variety of plant and animal life, and on this website, only the surface of this great diversity is scratched.
